We are excited to recognize Andrew, our standout Federal Way High School student-athlete who advanced and represented our district at the WIAA 3A State Golf Championships

Qualifying for this elite tournament requires tremendous discipline, focus, and perseverance throughout a long and demanding season. Competing among the state's best, Andrew's advancement to this championship stage reflects the incredible hard work and competitive spirit he demonstrated all year long.

We are proud to honor our elite tennis players from Decatur, Internet Academyand Thomas Jefferson high schools who advanced to compete against the state’s top talent at the WIAA 3A Boys & Girls State Tennis Championships.

Our district sent an impressive lineup of singles players and doubles teams to the state tournament, demonstrating remarkable composure and strategy on the court. Their hard work resulted in brilliant top-tier finishes, including a spectacular 5th-place finish in the state for Boys Singles and a matching, phenomenal 5th-place finish in the state for Girls Doubles, both captured by Thomas Jefferson High School and Internet Academy!

Congratulations to all of our state singles and doubles participants on an outstanding season! We are FWPS Proud!

We are proud to celebrate an absolute wave of athletic excellence at the WIAA 3A State Track and Field Championships, where all four of our comprehensive high schools—Decatur, Federal Way, Thomas Jefferson, and Todd Beamer—had student-athletes proudly participating! 

Our athletes electrified the track with outstanding top-tier performances, highlighted by a 3rd-place finish in the 110-Meter Hurdles, a 3rd-place finish in the Long Jump, and a magnificent 2nd-place state finish as the State Runner-Up in the Boys 4x400 Meter Relay! This incredible depth propelled the Federal Way High School’s team to a stellar 6th-place overall team finish in the state.

Our Todd Beamer High School state competitors also brought home a fantastic podium finish, capturing a 3rd-place state medal in the Girls Shot Put!

Additionally, our Unified Sports track program shined on the championship stage, capturing a phenomenal 2nd-place state finish as the State Runner-Up in the Unified 100-Meter Team event!

Congratulations to the Decatur High School Boys Soccer Team! Through incredible determination, tactical skill, and absolute grit, these student-athletes punched their ticket to the WIAA 3A State Boys Soccer Championships this season. 

Advancing to the state tournament is a testament to their relentless hard work, long hours of training, and unwavering team chemistry. You have elevated our entire community and represented Decatur with immense pride.

Decatur HS boys soccer team qualified to the WIAA 3A State Boys Soccer Championships.

We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible postseason run of our high school baseball program at the WIAA 3A State Baseball Championships

Facing off against the premier teams in Washington, our student-athletes battled fiercely through the bracket to capture an outstanding 4th-place finish in the entire state! This achievement reflects a season of immense grit, teamwork, and execution on the mound and at the plate.

Congratulations to all 17 of our state-qualifying athletes and the coaching staff for a phenomenal season! We are FWPS Proud!

We are thrilled to announce that seven schools in Federal Way Public Schools have been honored by the Washington State Board of Education for their exceptional achievements in Closing Gaps, Growth, and Achievement from the 2024-25 school year.

This acknowledgment is part of the Washington School Recognition Program, a collaborative initiative by the State Board of Education (SBE), the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), and the Educational Opportunity Gap Oversight and Accountability Committee (EOGOAC).

7 FWPS schools honored by the Wash. St Board of Education for the 2024-25 school year.

Congratulations to the final overall champions of the third annual FWPS Attendance Cup Challenge. This challenge showcased the dedication of our scholars and educators in achieving attendance excellence. We proudly honor the hard work and perseverance demonstrated over the 7-week challenge.

Our schools were grouped into seven new cluster groups for the challenge, and each group had two categories of winners: those with the highest overall attendance rate, and those who showed the most improvement in attendance.
